Your pilot will choose one of many scenic routes to fly on the way to the Dog World, providing stunning views of the expansive Tongass National Forest and brilliant Juneau Icefield along the way. If you’re lucky, you might spot local wildlife or a calving glacier!
At Dog World, you will be greeted by your guide, a professional musher with years of dog sledding experience. During your two and a half hours on the ice, learn about the history, lifestyle, and techniques of dog sledding and experience personalized interactions with the dogs.
These pups are lovable Alaskan Huskies, born and raised here. They are well cared for and loved by their owners and it really shows.
Hear their howls of excitement when it’s time to mush, and see how they respond to tour guides with a wagging tail and a desire to show guests what dog sledding is all about.
This includes the option to assist with harnessing and booting the dogs, learning to drive the sled, and learning how to provide the best wellness care for the team. After covering the basics, you will go on a mush for up to four miles across the snow-capped Norris Glacier.
